Tyne Theatre and Opera House hosts An Evening with Richard E Grant May 25.
Grant has starred in everything from Doctor Who to Downton Abbey via Game of Thrones, Star Wars and Spice World and was Oscar-nominated for his 2018 role in Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Now he tells stories from his life, entwining tales from his time in showbiz with reflections on love and loss, to celebrate the publication of his new book, A Pocketful of Happiness.
In the meantime, Ukrainian National Opera is coming to the city February 21 as part of a UK-wide tour with a première of Bizet’s opera Carmen.
Love, jealousy and violence curdle in 19th century Seville in Bizet’s mix of passion, melodies, dramatic confrontation and musical wit. The opera will be sung in original language with English surtitles.
